Our Story

By the Bride

I first met Boni at a friend’s wedding in Houston. I remember seeing him come in through a side door and going through the crowd greeting a few people. I thought “Hmm he is cute. I wonder who he is” and left it at that. Later on a mutual friend introduced us and we made small talk and had a few dances together. There were no sparks. He was just another guy at the party checking me out. I could tell he was attracted to me.  At the end of the day when I was about to leave, he asked for my number and promised to call the following day. As we said our goodbyes in the parking lot he gave me this long cushy hug to which I thought………hmmm no comments.

He eventually called late the next day, explained he had a prior commitment and will like to hook up later and then called again to cancel. As I said he was just another guy. A few days later he called and apologized for cancelling our meeting. We had some interesting conversations over a period of time but I was not a big fan of long distance relationships so I did what I normally do best in such situations. I let things fizzle and we lost touch for about a year.

The next time I saw Boni was at his cousin’s wedding.

This time around my sister had to draw my attention to the fact that there was a guy across the room that had been starring at me, essentially with his mouth wide open since we walked in. I turned around and noticed he still had this mesmerizing stare on his face. Okay don’t blame the brother for being dazed, the sister was looking reeeaaally goooooodd!! Ha…. ha.
